Raspberry Frozen Yoghurt - Recipe

I'm making an effort to cook smarter and eat healthier at the moment. Nothing dramatic, but just cut down on processed foods and eat fresh. I've really reduced my sugar intake and it's made a big difference to how I feel. That said, I still love a treat and on a hot day there is nothing better than ice cream. We eat a lot of yoghurt here so the frozen variety is a healthy and delicious replacement for ice cream.

There are only three ingredients only to this recipe! Easy!

Raspberry Frozen Yoghurt
Makes 1 adult sized portion. Double or triple the quantity as required.
1 cup natural/greek style yoghurt (for a sweeter flavour use a vanilla flavoured yoghurt)
1/3 cup raspberries (fresh or frozen)
1 tsp vanilla essence

Add all ingredients to an ice cream maker and churn according to the appliance's instructions.

If you don't have an ice cream maker, add all ingredients into a bowl, mix well, and place in your freezer. Remove and stir every 20 minutes until frozen to your desired consistency.

I used my Kambrook Soft Scoops Ice Cream Maker to make this, which has a small bowl and makes a single serve. The single serve is an adult portion, and I got two generous kid sized portions from this quantity. If you have a large ice cream maker, just double or triple the quantities.

The best thing about this little machine is that it only took 9 minutes to churn the ingredients into ice cream. So quick! But you do have to plan ahead - the bowl needs to be completely frozen before you make your ice cream, which takes at least 6 hours.

The frozen yoghurt I made was the perfect consistency - frozen but nice and soft and easy for the kids to eat.

It went down a treat and I had two very happy little girls enjoying their dessert!

Can't argue with that face! YUM!

Disclosure: This is not a sponsored post, the lovely people from Kambrook sent me a Soft Scoops Ice Cream Maker for the purpose of review. All opinions are my own.

  2. This looks awesome!! It's been too long since I've made myself some frozen yogurt...I've tried berry (blueberry & strawberry mixed) and then a tangy mix of orange and lemon. Both were delicious and this one looks sooo good that I want to make some now lol. Tood bad everyone in the house is asleep right now haha!
