How was your Christmas? Ours was great, very relaxing. The kids had a ball - Christmas is much more fun when the kids have that complete belief in Santa and the reindeers!
2012 was a great year, both personally and for Sew Delicious. I've loved making things and baking things, and blogging all about it! According to Google Analytics, here are the top five posts my readers have loved the most over the past year.
In fifth place is the my Simple Zip Pouch tutorial- I've had lots of love for this one, especially from sewing beginners who wanted an easy project to get started with. This is also a good one for people who are a bit nervous about sewing zippers.
In fourth place, my Oilcloth Toiletries Bag tutorial. I love these pouches and my girls have one each (the ones in the photo!) and we use them all the time when we travel.
In third place, the ever popular Mad Men inspired Peggy Skirt tutorial.
The runner up as most popular post of 2012 is the Baby Zipper Pouch Tutorial. The baby who received this gift is now a gorgeous and busy little 15 month old and his Mum still uses this pouch for his nappies.
And....drumroll please....The most popular post on Sew Delicious for 2012 was...The DIY Clothing Labels tutorial! Such a popular tutorial that I posted back in January and it has remained popular all year.
So thanks to all my readers for all your support this year!
I thought I'd also share with you my personal favourites from 2012. I think these projects are favourites for me because they symbolise a skill or project that I found hard to master, but I did it successfully and was really pleased with the outcome.
My favourites - ruffle butt nappy pants for baby Pippa, Anna's flannelette pyjama pants (tutorial here), fabric storage basket, and the iPad case for my sister. The iPad case is a bit of a special one - it is really nice to see that my sister uses it every day!
In 2012 I was also really lucky - my lovely husband gave me an overlocker for my birthday and an iPad for Christmas. And somehow managed to keep both gifts a complete surprise! He is always here in the background at Sew Delicious head quarters and is always a big support, so thanks bub, love you heaps!
Have a great New Year's Eve and I'll be back in 2013 with heaps of new projects. Over the holidays my little Janome has been getting a serious work out and I'm looking forward to sharing what I've been up to!
I think I may have to request for your husband to give present lessons to my husband! I got a dressing gown for Christmas; I sent him the link for it expecting him to get me a surprise too! :) Good job he's so handsome.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great post.... I've love these particular tutorials you've given us. Thanks so much. Best wishes for 2013!
