I picked up this pattern from the Salvo's Thrift shop for the bargain price of 20c! The label on the back says that the pattern is from 1982.
I chose Dress 4 of the pattern (the green one) and updated it with some coordinating Amy Butler fabrics from her Lotus range.
Despite it being a size 2, its currently way to big for my 2.5 year old, but that suits because I am hoping she will fit into it once my 4 month old fits into her matching cross over pinafore! Cute matching girls - I used to hate my mum dressing my sister and I the same and now I inflict some matchy outfits on my girls...but it's too cute to resist!

ReplyDeleteOkay, I actually just put the same dress on my little girl, which my mom sewed for me. EXACT pattern! And I was dying to find this pattern to make the same dress, as it is a hastle to copy it from the actual dress. I would post the picture of the dress, but I think I can't here, right? you would not sell this pattern by any chance, or "your version" of it? Best! Julia

ReplyDeleteI learned to sew with my Mom's large collection of patterns from the 50's-70's. What I would give to still have them now that I am sewing for my kids.

Love this! I think my Grandma made a similar dress for me when I was little! I am seriously jealous of your skills, as I can not sew a straight line to save my life!

That is just the sweetest dress. I have both of those fabrics in my stash to make a dress at some point for my blue-eyed daughter.
