This is my favourite fabric at the moment - Whale Love by Dan Stiles. It is organic cotton, and as a result is pretty expensive so I am saving my pennies so I can afford a few metres of it and the other coordinating prints in the collection. Unless anyone wants to send some to me free of charge?...*crickets chirping*
I recently purchased the Heidi & Finn Urban Unisex Hoodie Pattern and found a cute whale print knit at my local fabric store. Great PDF pattern with tutorial and this was the result (my model insisted on eating lunch during the shoot!)
Another project was for Anna's friend Felix who celebrated his 3rd birthday recently. I made him some summer pyjamas from Whales in Bermuda fabric - love it!
What's your current favourite motif?
I'd have to say my favourite is purple flowers at the moment. The hoodie looks great with the whale fabric as the inside of the hood.
ReplyDeleteI love this hoodie! I love the fabric choice. I'm really big on plain fabric with a contrasting print. Looks like I came straight out of a childrens boutique store. How did you find the pattern? Easy? Does the hoodie sit quite short in the waist? Some of the pictures for the pattern appear to be a little short? Awesome Job :-)
ReplyDeleteSherry, it was a great pattern and the tutorial that came with it made it really fool proof. The length was great, I found the size ran a bit small, especially in the arms, but part of that was my beginner sewing skills, I think I added a bit extra seam allowance. I will definitely make it again for winter next year.
ReplyDeleteHi! Thanks so much for your sweet comment on my blog! I'm following you back! :) Thanks so much! You are so crafty! I wish I could sew well enough to do a project! :) Great job! I saw the animal clips below too -- super cute!! Have a great weekend! xo, Reannah
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I bought this pattern and am struggling with it big time.. it's all good until the button holes.. My machine caught on them so many times almost mutilating the jumper ( in the end I had to cut it out of my machine).. I'd appreciate any tips, your's looks lovely!
