Really must get to it, every time I see them I want one even more. Your fabrics are so cute and you do a great job of keeping the scraps down by using them up - must do that more often...Deehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08894258034175095725noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-730149430872297751.post-36014988636890191632013-05-27T10:37:04.765+10:002013-05-27T10:37:04.765+10:00These are sooooo cute. We will have quite a few this year (Master 6 has just the one teacher but Miss 4 has three kinder teachers plus two daycare teachers!). I think I might start sewing them soon and putting them away as gifts. So many uses - pencil case, makeup bag, inside a bigger bag - endless!

Lovely Ros xJane from Lil Piphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10520628614121066325noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-730149430872297751.post-38222441515710000382013-05-27T08:45:21.074+10:002013-05-27T08:45:21.074+10:00Thanks Toni! Yes I think it's low loft. The problem with batting is that it's not cheap, but if you are just sewing pouches and things, polyester would probably be OK. You can often pick up a cot sized batting for $5 at Spotlight. But the cotton batting does sew up a bit better and retain it's shape, although its about $20-25 per metre. I've been using the off cuts from the quilts I've made lately.Roslynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01589284767041828265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-730149430872297751.post-80601737300026227262013-05-27T08:40:51.814+10:002013-05-27T08:40:51.814+10:00Sew cute! For the quilted ones I make a quilted panel then make it into the pouch. For unquilted ones I add a layer of batting between the exterior and the lining. It makes the pouches nice and sturdy. You could use interfacing as well.Roslynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01589284767041828265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-730149430872297751.post-25995533796528343572013-05-26T21:51:12.395+10:002013-05-26T21:51:12.395+10:00They all look fabulous, Ros, but i especially like...They all look fabulous, Ros, but i especially like the last one. I LOVE your fussy cutting for the PKM button cards, they look so great - and the pinks look so good with the aquas! The Yardage Girl Agapanthus fabric is gorgeous, love her designs.

I have a couple of these pouches on my list too, for later this week - one for a pressie and one for me - I really want to make a bigger size to use for my growing-still-not-very-good-at-it crochet habit - big enough to carry a few balls of wool and hooks.

The Noodlehead pattern is great - the thing I find the trickiest is sewing down the ends of the zip to get them out of the way - I need to sew them down, I'm not skilled enough to just pin them and make it work.
